Coming Soon: Belt Clip Keychains!
That Vanguard Belts guy spent a little time at the work bench this afternoon coming up with this prototype belt-worn keychain clip.
It took a few iterations to get to this right, but I think this design should be a good working model. It uses a very hardy stainless steel key clip for key retention, and a "pull-the-dot" style snap to fasten the black soft loop onto a belt. It's a type of snap that only engages and disengages from a certain angle, making it very unlikely to ever come unsnapped on its own.
The stainless steel clip is also very easy to engage/disengage one-handed to hang/retrieve your keys.
The black synthetic soft loop is made of the same kind of durable TPU-coated webbing material from which Vanguard Belts are made, just thinner and narrower.
If you're the type of person that prefers to hang your keys from your waist instead of stuffing them into a pocket, this gizmo may be just the thing for you. Hanging from a Vanguard Belt, your keys aren't going anywhere unless you intend them to.
And no more ripping apart the belt loops on your jeans with that overloaded carabiner of keys. Let this keychain clip bear the weight properly on your belt and save your jeans.

Price point is still to be determined depending on the hardware costs that I tally up, but I'm hoping to keep it at, or just under $20 if possible. Keep an eye on my website for this item to appear in the catalog soon.
